Captain Eugene (Red) McDaniel should especially be honored in his loyalty, dedication and love of his country. He not only spent time in The
Hanoi Hilton as a prisoner but on his return worked feverishly to bring the hundreds of POWs who were abandoned and left behind in Vietnam home. In Aug. of 1992 Eric Samuelson and I attended a briefing at Camp Mabry in Austin Texas given by Captain McDaniel. He stated optimistically that the next month in Sept. 1992 that Senator Kerry and Senator McCain heading up a committee to investigate those POWs left behind would meet and start the process pf bringing them home. They met but instead of doing the right thing listened to Henry Kissinger who helped cover up the truth about the POW question. So the POWs were never returned home.

An Enormous Crime is nothing less than shocking. Based on thousands of pages of public and previously classified documents, it makes an utterly convincing case that when the American government withdrew its forces from Vietnam, it knowingly abandoned hundreds of POWs to their fate. The product of twenty-five years of research by former Congressman Bill Hendon and attorney Elizabeth A. Stewart, An Enormous Crime brilliantly exposes the reasons why these American soldiers and airmen were held back by the North Vietnamese at Operation Homecoming in 1973 and what these men have endured since.
Despite hundreds of postwar sightings and intelligence reports telling of Americans being held captive throughout Vietnam and Laos, Washington did nothing. And despite numerous secret military signals and codes sent from the desperate POWs themselves, the Pentagon did not act. Even in 1988, a U.S. spy satellite passing over Sam Neua Province, Laos, spotted the twelve-foot-tall letters “USA” and immediately beneath them a huge, highly classified Vietnam War-era USAF/USN Escape & Evasion code in a rice paddy in a narrow mountain valley. The letters “USA” appeared to have been dug out of the ground, while the code appeared to have been fashioned from rice straw (see jacket photograph).
Tragically, the brave men who constructed these codes have not yet come home. Nor have any of the other American POWs who the postwar intelligence shows have laid down similar codes, secret messages, and secret authenticators in rice paddies and fields and garden plots and along trails in both Laos and Vietnam.
An Enormous Crime is based on open-source documents and reports, and thousands of declassified intelligence reports and satellite imagery, as well as author interviews and personal experience. It is a singular work, telling a story unlike any other in our modern history: ugly, harrowing, and true.
From the Bay of Pigs, where John and Robert Kennedy struck a deal with Fidel Castro that led to freedom for the Bay of Pigs prisoners, to the Paris Peace Accords, in which the authors argue Kissinger and Nixon sold American soldiers down the river for political gain, to a continued reluctance to revisit the possibility of reclaiming any men who might still survive, we have a story untold for decades. published on the The Democracy Wall in Beijing on Dec. 5, 1978 forever
will endear him to all freedom loving people not only in China but all
over the world. Today America is facing a crisis and assault on its
citizens human rights. Wei Jingsheng has seen tyranny and
totalitarianism first hand. Wei has never stopped working for freedom
and democracy for all Chinese, even under the most difficult conditions.
Ciping Huang has been the right hand lady for Wei for several years and
is dedicated to the same principles as Wei. She will translate for this
interview. Wei is the most well-known and reputed advocate of democracy
both inside and outside of China. In 1996, Wei Jingsheng was awarded
the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. Wei Jingsheng is a winner of
numerous other human rights and democracy awards, including the Robert
F. Kennedy Memorial Human Rights Award in 1996, the National Endowment
for Democracy Award in 1997, the Olof Palme Memorial Prize in 1994, and
the International Activist Award by the Gleitsman Foundation, etc. He
has been praised in numerous places with varies titles, such as “Father
of Chinese Democracy” and “Nelson Mandela of China”. Thousands of
entries about him can be found on the Internet in various languages.
Besides the well publicized essay he wrote in 1978, the Fifth
Modernization, he is the author of “Courage to Stand Alone — letters
from Prison and Other Writings”, which compiles his articles written
initially on toilet paper in jail. He has weekly commentary on Radio
Free Asia, and many other news media. This program will be a valuable
lesson not only about Chinese Freedom but will be enlightening and
revealing about the struggle for all humankind

more than 20 years, Lloyd Chapman has worked to protect the interests
of our nation’s 27 million small businesses. In 2002, Mr. Chapman
founded the American Small Business League (ASBL) with a goal of
stopping the diversion of federal small business contracts to large
corporations. Mr. Chapman has been credited with prompting the first
federal investigation and congressional hearing looking into the
diversion of small business contracts to large corporations. During the
last seven years, Mr. Chapman and the ASBL have been instrumental in
prompting the removal of 600 large firms from federal small business
databases, more than 25 federal investigations and nearly 1000 stories
in various media outlets across the nation. Additionally, on six
separate occasions Mr. Chapman has filed suit against the federal
government and won. As a result of Chapman’s work, small businesses
across the country are doing more business with the federal government,
and business owners are more aware of the challenges facing their small
businesses. A relentless champion and vocal crusader for the rights of
small businesses, Mr. Chapman is a familiar figure at the Small Business
Administration (SBA) and on Capital Hill where he has continued to work
tirelessly during the last two presidential administrations to prevent
widespread fraud and abuse.
Mr. Chapman began his career working for legendary Texas political
leader Bob Bullock. He spent eight years in the Texas Controller’s
office, before moving to California in 1986 to enter the computer
industry. It was at this time that he first became aware of major
problems in federal small business contracting programs, and soon became
an advocate for small technology firms. In this role, he closely
monitored federal “set-aside” contracts for small businesses. In 1991,
his work triggered a Congressional investigation into the F-22 Stealth
fighter program, which forced the Air Force and Lockheed Martin to
allocate an additional $501 million to small and minority-owned firms.
By law, the federal government is obligated to award a fair portion (currently 23%) of its contracts to small businesses. That said, a series of federal investigations and private studies have found that the government is reporting billions of dollars in contracts to large companies as federal small business awards.
In his continuing role as a small business advocate, Mr. Chapman spearheaded litigation to acquire information on small business utilization in government contracts. In 1993, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled against the Defense Logistics Agency, forcing it to release vital information documenting small business contracting awards. This has paved the way for greater participation by small businesses in federal contracting by exposing the lack of enforcement of Congressional mandated small business goals.

Sociology professor Don Gibson retires after 30-plus-year career
The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg has announced the retirement of Donald E. Gibson, PhD, professor of Sociology. Gibson’s career spanned more than 30 years and is highlighted by his dedication to making students aware of the importance of an informed citizenship by exploring power, both social and economic, and its effect on US economic problems.
Gibson, a resident of Greensburg, started teaching at Pitt-Greensburg in 1981 as an assistant professor of Sociology. He advanced to associate professor in 1987, and then full professor in 1997. He served as chairperson of the Behavioral Sciences Division from 2003 through 2005. Active with the American Democracy Project, a multi-campus initiative that focused on higher education’s role in preparing the next generation of informed, engaged citizens for our democracy, he also played a part in developing Pitt-Greensburg’s course on American society.
“A devoted teacher and scholar, Dr. Gibson’s scholarship in an impressively wide range of important social areas—including implications of the development of the hospice movement, changes in the economy and shifts in social values, mass media, and environmentalism—demonstrated to his students the power of research to inform decisions on important policy questions,” said Sharon P. Smith, PhD, president of Pitt-Greensburg.
Gibson’s teaching areas included technology and social change, medical sociology, mass media, white collar crime, and American society. His research areas ranged from mass media, and the President’s Commission on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy, to the changes in the US economy since the 1960s and the relationship of these changes to shifts in social values and public policy.
A prolific writer, his first book was published in 1994, “Battling Wall Street: The Kennedy Presidency” (reissued by Progressive Press, 2014), which challenges conventional wisdom and asserts that Kennedy was always on the side of economic, political, and social progress. Gibson also authored “The Kennedy Assassination Cover-up” (Kroshka/NOVA Science Publishers 1999), described as “an effectively researched and probing analysis of America’s most important solved murder.” One reviewer credits Gibson with writing three of the most important books available on the politics of modern times, listing Gibson’s third book “Environmentalism: Ideology and Power” (NOVA Science Publishers, 2002) with the first two Kennedy books.
A fourth book, “Communication, Power and Media” (NOVA Science Publishers, 2004) explores how the media has been used to control and manipulate people rather than as a means to inform and inspire people. His most recent book, “Wealth, Power, and the Crisis of Laissez-Faire Capitalism” (Palgrave MacMillan, 2011), traces America’s rise to global supremacy and examines how free-market ideology and the “establishment” networks exemplified by Wall Street and the Council for Foreign Relations combined to lead the United States to the political and economic crises faced at the dawn of the 21st century.
Gibson also has published numerous journal articles and other articles that explore these topics, as well as the hospice movement and the rise of organized opposition to nuclear energy. He also was a frequent panelist discussing the relationship between money and power.
Prior to coming to Pitt-Greensburg, Gibson taught at Middlebury College, Oberlin College, and the University of Delaware. He also was an instructor in the Department of Labor Studies at Pennsylvania State University where he taught a course on labor and the economy for the United Steelworkers of America Union Leadership Academy in Wilmington, DE. Gibson earned his BA in sociology/social welfare from West Chester State College and his MA and PhD in sociology from the University of Delaware. He also served four years in the U.S. Air Force.

This book contains physical evidence, not theories or speculation, but physical evidence that is overwhelming and conclusive as to what happened. But for the record, I do not believe that our government is responsible for executing the events of 9/11/01; nor do I believe that our government is not responsible for executing the events of 9/11/01.
This is not a case of belief. This is a
crime that should be solved by a forensic study of the evidence. Before
it can be determined who did it, it must first be determined what was
done and how it was done.
The order of crime solving is to determine
1) WHAT happened, then
2) HOW it happened (e.g., what weapon), then
3) WHO did it. And only then can we address
4) WHY they did it (i.e. motive).
Let us remember what is required to (legally) convict someone of a crime. You cannot convict someone of a crime based on belief. You cannot convict someone of a crime if you don’t even know what crime to charge them with. If you accuse someone of murder using a gun, you’d better be sure the body has a bullet hole in it. And yet before noon on 9/11/01, we were told who did it, how they did it, and why they did it (they hate us for our freedoms); before any investigation had been conducted to determine what had even been done.
Many people have speculated as to who committed the crimes of 9/11 and/or how they did so. But without addressing what happened, speculation of this kind is nothing more than conspiracy theory, a phrase that also describes the 19 bad guys with box cutters story we were given before noon on 9/11/01.
My own research is not speculation. It is a forensics investigation of what happened to the WTC complex on 9/11/01. I don’t address who did it, nor am I concerned with that question right now. Before issues of that kind can be addressed, we must first determine what happened.
By definition, research that is purely empirical cannot be about and has nothing to do with conspiracy theory of any kind. The fact that others (in the mainstream media, the alternative media, and the so-called 9/11 truth movement) promote various theories about 9/11 is irrelevant to my research. On the other hand, to determine what happened, we must address all of the available evidence.
Anyone declaring who did what or how they did it before they have determined what was done is merely promoting either speculation or propaganda. The popular chant, “9/11 was an inside job,” is, scientifically speaking, no different from the chant that “19 bad guys with box cutters did it.” Neither one is the result of a scientific investigation supported by evidence that would be admissible in court. Neither identifies what crime was committed or how it was committed.
What is presented in this book is not a theory and it is not speculation. It is evidence. It is the body of empirical evidence that must be explained in order to determine what happened.

Is the freest country on earth moving toward totalitarian dictatorship?
What were the factors that enabled the Nazis to seize power in pre-war

- Conservatives who demand government control over our intellectual and moral life — prayer in the schools, literary censorship, government intervention in the teaching of biology, the anti-abortion movement, etc.
- Political parties devoid of principles or direction and moved at random by pressure groups, each demanding still more controls.
- A “progressive,” anti-intellectual educational system that, from kindergarten to graduate school, creates students who can’t read or write — students brainwashed into the feeling that their minds are helpless and they must adapt to “society,” that there is no absolute truth and that morality is whatever society says it is.
- A student radical movement (from the 1960’s through the violent anti-nukers and ecology fanatics of today) who are, Peikoff maintains, the “pre-Hitler youth movement resurrected.” The radicals are nature worshippers who attack the middle class, science, technology, and business.
