A student radical movement (from the 1960’s through the violent anti-nukers and ecology fanatics of today) who are, Peikoff maintains, the “pre-Hitler youth movement resurrected.” The radicals are nature worshippers who attack the middle class, science, technology, and business.
The rise of defiant old-world racial hatreds disguised as “ethnic-identity” movements and “affirmative action.”
A pervasive atmosphere of decadence, moral bankruptcy, and nihilist art accompanied by the rise of escapist mystic cults of every kind — astrology, “alternative medicine,” Orientalists, extrasensory perception, etc.

David J. Butler, an historical geographer by training, is a graduate of The National University of Ireland – University College Cork (UCC) in history and geography (BA: 1997); he pursued his doctoral studies at the department of Geography, UCC, culminating in 2003 with the award of PhD (N.U.I.), before going on to complete the NUI Diploma in GIS.
Butler has held a number of academic research and teaching positions, commencing with a post-doctoral research associate-ship at the UCC Coastal & Marine Resources Centre (CMRC), (2003-04), followed by appointment as HEA (North-South) Post-doctoral Research Fellow, at department of Sociology, UCC (2004-06) and, more recently, as IRCHSS Post-doctoral Research Associate at the department of history, University of Limerick (2010-11). He is an active teacher at third-level institutes across the province of Munster: at the department of history, University of Limerick, as teaching assistant on the MA History of Family (2007-09) and since 2011 as course director of the Certificate in History of Family and Genealogical Methods; at the department of religious studies, St Patrick’s College of Education, Thurles (2008-09), and particularly at the department of Geography and the Centre for Adult Continuing Education, University College Cork (since 2001), where he is academic course coordinator of the NUI Diploma in Genealogy.

While preparing his Senior Thesis in American History at Princeton University, Sean Stone came across the name of William Yandell Elliott, Professor Emeritus of history and government at Harvard through the first half of the 20th century. Stone found that Elliott had created a virtual “kindergarten” of Anglo-American imperialists among his students, who included Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Samuel P. Huntington, and McGeorge Bundy. Sociology professor Don Gibson retires after 30-plus-year career
The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg has announced the retirement of Donald E. Gibson, PhD, professor of Sociology. Gibson’s career spanned more than 30 years and is highlighted by his dedication to making students aware of the importance of an informed citizenship by exploring power, both social and economic, and its effect on US economic problems.
Gibson, a resident of Greensburg, started teaching at Pitt-Greensburg in 1981 as an assistant professor of Sociology. He advanced to associate professor in 1987, and then full professor in 1997. He served as chairperson of the Behavioral Sciences Division from 2003 through 2005. Active with the American Democracy Project, a multi-campus initiative that focused on higher education’s role in preparing the next generation of informed, engaged citizens for our democracy, he also played a part in developing Pitt-Greensburg’s course on American society.
“A devoted teacher and scholar, Dr. Gibson’s scholarship in an impressively wide range of important social areas—including implications of the development of the hospice movement, changes in the economy and shifts in social values, mass media, and environmentalism—demonstrated to his students the power of research to inform decisions on important policy questions,” said Sharon P. Gibson’s teaching areas included technology and social change, medical sociology, mass media, white collar crime, and American society. His research areas ranged from mass media, and the President’s Commission on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy, to the changes in the US economy since the 1960s and the relationship of these changes to shifts in social values and public policy.
A prolific writer, his first book was published in 1994, “Battling Wall Street: The Kennedy Presidency” (reissued by Progressive Press, 2014), which challenges conventional wisdom and asserts that Kennedy was always on the side of economic, political, and social progress. Gibson also authored “The Kennedy Assassination Cover-up” (Kroshka/NOVA Science Publishers 1999), described as “an effectively researched and probing analysis of America’s most important solved murder.” One reviewer credits Gibson with writing three of the most important books available on the politics of modern times, listing Gibson’s third book “Environmentalism: Ideology and Power” (NOVA Science Publishers, 2002) with the first two Kennedy books.
A fourth book, “Communication, Power and Media” (NOVA Science Publishers, 2004) explores how the media has been used to control and manipulate people rather than as a means to inform and inspire people. His most recent book, “Wealth, Power, and the Crisis of Laissez-Faire Capitalism” (Palgrave MacMillan, 2011), traces America’s rise to global supremacy and examines how free-market ideology and the “establishment” networks exemplified by Wall Street and the Council for Foreign Relations combined to lead the United States to the political and economic crises faced at the dawn of the 21st century.
Gibson also has published numerous journal articles and other articles that explore these topics, as well as the hospice movement and the rise of organized opposition to nuclear energy. He also was a frequent panelist discussing the relationship between money and power.
Prior to coming to Pitt-Greensburg, Gibson taught at Middlebury College, Oberlin College, and the University of Delaware. He also was an instructor in the Department of Labor Studies at Pennsylvania State University where he taught a course on labor and the economy for the United Steelworkers of America Union Leadership Academy in Wilmington, DE. Gibson earned his BA in sociology/social welfare from West Chester State College and his MA and PhD in sociology from the University of Delaware. He also served four years in the U.S. Air Force.

This is not a case of belief. This is a crime that should be solved by a forensic study of the evidence. Before it can be determined who did it, it must first be determined what was done and how it was done.e order of crime solving is to determine

3) WHO did it. And only then can we address
4) WHY they did it (i.e. motive).
Let us remember what is required to (legally) convict someone of a crime. You cannot convict someone of a crime based on belief. You cannot convict someone of a crime if you don’t even know what crime to charge them with. If you accuse someone of murder using a gun, you’d better be sure the body has a bullet hole in it. And yet before noon on 9/11/01, we were told who did it, how they did it, and why they did it (they hate us for our freedoms); before any investigation had been conducted to determine what had even been done.
Many people have speculated as to who committed the crimes of 9/11 and/or how they did so. But without addressing what happened, speculation of this kind is nothing more than conspiracy theory, a phrase that also describes the 19 bad guys with box cutters story we were given before noon on 9/11/01.
My own research is not speculation. It is a forensics investigation of what happened to the WTC complex on 9/11/01. I don’t address who did it, nor am I concerned with that question right now. Before issues of that kind can be addressed, we must first determine what happened.
By definition, research that is purely empirical cannot be about and has nothing to do with conspiracy theory of any kind. The fact that others (in the mainstream media, the alternative media, and the so-called 9/11 truth movement) promote various theories about 9/11 is irrelevant to my research. On the other hand, to determine what happened, we must address all of the available evidence.
Anyone declaring who did what or how they did it before they have determined what was done is merely promoting either speculation or propaganda. The popular chant, “9/11 was an inside job,” is, scientifically speaking, no different from the chant that “19 bad guys with box cutters did it.” Neither one is the result of a scientific investigation supported by evidence that would be admissible in court. Neither identifies what crime was committed or how it was committed.
What is presented in this book is not a theory and it is not speculation. It is evidence. It is the body of empirical evidence that must be explained in order to determine what happened.

What has the “American Mind” become?
In 1987, Allan Bloom’s The Closing of the American Mind was published, a wildly popular book that drew attention to American culture’s shift away from the tenets that made America—and Americans—unique. Bloom focused on a breakdown in the American curriculum, but many sensed that the issue affected more than education. The very essence of what it meant to be an American was disappearing.
Since then, the United States has experienced unprecedented wealth, rising enrollments in higher education, and miraculous technology advancements. At the same time, however, the American mind has deteriorated. Citizens have meager knowledge, low skills, fading civic interest, high narcissism, and abundant distractions. Benjamin Franklin’s “self-made man,” jealous of his rights and attuned to current events has become a self-absorbed, media-saturated, politically-correct adult more or less dependent on the state.
Editors Mark Bauerlein and Adam Bellow have brought together a group of cultural and educational experts to discuss the root causes of the decline of the American mind in fifteen original essays. Their arguments are acute, and they compile profuse empirical evidence for the conclusions they draw. Taken together, the contributions offer a unique assessment of our present state as well as a warning, foretelling what we may yet become.

FOURTH, I will direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately
FIFTH, I will lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars’ worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.
SIXTH, lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward
SEVENTH, cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America’s water and environmental infrastructure
Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law:
FIRST, cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama
SECOND, begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States
THIRD, cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities
FOURTH, begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won’t take them back
FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.
Next, I will work with Congress to introduce the following broader legislative measures and fight for their passage within the first 100 days of my Administration:
1. Middle Class Tax Relief And Simplification Act. An economic plan designed to grow the economy 4% per year and create at least 25 million new jobs through massive tax reduction and simplification, in combination with trade reform, regulatory relief, and lifting the restrictions on American energy. The largest tax reductions are for the middle class. A middle-class family with 2 children will get a 35% tax cut. The current number of brackets will be reduced from 7 to 3, and tax forms will likewise be greatly simplified. The business rate will be lowered from 35 to 15 percent, and the trillions of dollars of American corporate money overseas can now be brought back at a 10 percent rate.
2. End The Offshoring Act Establishes tariffs to discourage companies from laying off their workers in order to relocate in other countries and ship their products back to the U.S. tax-free.
3. American Energy & Infrastructure Act. Leverages public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years. It is revenue neutral.
4. School Choice And Education Opportunity Act. Redirects education dollars to gives parents the right to send their kid to the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice. Ends common core, brings education supervision to local communities. It expands vocational and technical education, and make 2 and 4-year college more affordable.
5. Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act. Fully repeals Obamacare and replaces it with Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and lets states manage Medicaid funds. Reforms will also include cutting the red tape at the FDA: there are over 4,000 drugs awaiting approval, and we especially want to speed the approval of life-saving medications.
6. Affordable Childcare and Eldercare Act. Allows Americans to deduct childcare and elder care from their taxes, incentivizes employers to provide on-site childcare services, and creates tax-free Dependent Care Savings Accounts for both young and elderly dependents, with matching contributions for low-income families.
7. End Illegal Immigration Act Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a 2-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a 5-year mandatory minimum for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for overstaying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first.
8. Restoring Community Safety Act. Reduces surging crime, drugs and violence by creating a Task Force On Violent Crime and increasing funding for programs that train and assist local police; increases resources for federal law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors to dismantle criminal gangs and put violent offenders behind bars.
9. Restoring National Security Act. Rebuilds our military by eliminating the defense sequester and expanding military investment; provides Veterans with the ability to receive public VA treatment or attend the private doctor of their choice; protects our vital infrastructure from cyber-attack; establishes new screening procedures for immigration to ensure those who are admitted to our country support our people and our values
10. Clean up Corruption in Washington Act. Enacts new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.
On November 8th, Americans will be voting for this 100-day plan to restore prosperity to our economy, security to our communities, and honesty to our government.
This is my pledge to you.
And if we follow these steps, we will once more have a government of, by and for the people.”

For more than 20 years, Lloyd Chapman has worked to protect the interests of our nation’s 27 million small businesses. In 2002, Mr. Chapman founded the American Small Business League (ASBL) with a goal of stopping the diversion of federal small business contracts to large corporations. Mr. Chapman has been credited with prompting the first federal investigation and congressional hearing looking into the diversion of small business contracts to large corporations. During the last seven years, Mr. Chapman and the ASBL have been instrumental in prompting the removal of 600 large firms from federal small business databases, more than 25 federal investigations and nearly 1000 stories in various media outlets across the nation. Additionally, on six separate occasions Mr. Chapman has filed suit against the federal government and won. As a result of Chapman’s work, small businesses across the country are doing more business with the federal government, and business owners are more aware of the challenges facing their small businesses. A relentless champion and vocal crusader for the rights of small businesses, Mr. Chapman is a familiar figure at the Small Business Administration (SBA) and on Capital Hill where he has continued to work tirelessly during the last two presidential administrations to prevent widespread fraud and abuse.
Mr. Chapman began his career working for legendary Texas political leader Bob Bullock. He spent eight years in the Texas Controller’s office, before moving to California in 1986 to enter the computer industry. It was at this time that he first became aware of major problems in federal small business contracting programs, and soon became an advocate for small technology firms. In this role, he closely monitored federal “set-aside” contracts for small businesses. In 1991, his work triggered a Congressional investigation into the F-22 Stealth fighter program, which forced the Air Force and Lockheed Martin to allocate an additional $501 million to small and minority-owned firms.
By law, the federal government is obligated to award a fair portion (currently 23%) of its contracts to small businesses. That said, a series of federal investigations and private studies have found that the government is reporting billions of dollars in contracts to large companies as federal small business awards.
In his continuing role as a small business advocate, Mr. Chapman spearheaded litigation to acquire information on small business utilization in government contracts. In 1993, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled against the Defense Logistics Agency, forcing it to release vital information documenting small business contracting awards. This has paved the way for greater participation by small businesses in federal contracting by exposing the lack of enforcement of Congressional mandated small business goals.

These are the questions raised — and answered, with frightening clarity — by Leonard Peikoff, Ayn Rand’s intellectual heir, in his powerful book The Ominous Parallels.

A “progressive,” anti-intellectual educational system that, from kindergarten to graduate school, creates students who can’t read or write — students brainwashed into the feeling that their minds are helpless and they must adapt to “society,” that there is no absolute truth and that morality is whatever society says it is.
A student radical movement (from the 1960’s through the violent anti-nukers and ecology fanatics of today) who are, Peikoff maintains, the “pre-Hitler youth movement resurrected.” The radicals are nature worshippers who attack the middle class, science, technology, and business.
The rise of defiant old-world racial hatreds disguised as “ethnic-identity” movements and “affirmative action.”
A pervasive atmosphere of decadence, moral bankruptcy, and nihilist art accompanied by the rise of escapist mystic cults of every kind — astrology, “alternative medicine,” Orientalists, extrasensory perception, etc.
In an introduction to Peikoff’s book, Ayn Rand describes The Ominous Parallels as, “the first book by an Objectivist philosopher other than myself” and goes on to say that, “If you do not wish to be a victim of today’s philosophical bankruptcy, I recommend The Ominous Parallels as protection and ammunition. It will protect you from supporting, unwittingly, the ideas that are destroying you and the world.”
In brilliantly reasoned prose, Peikoff argues that the deepest roots of German Nazism lie not in existential crises, but in ideas — not in Germany’s military defeat in World War I or the economic disasters of the Weimar Republic that followed, but in the philosophy that dominated pre-Nazi Germany. Although it was mediated by crises, Peikoff demonstrates that German Nazism was the inevitable climax of a centuries-long philosophic development, preaching three fundamental ideas: the worship of unreason, the demand for self-sacrifice and the elevation of society or the state above the individual.
“These ideas,” Peikoff says, “are the essence of Nazism and they are exactly what our leading universities are now spreading throughout this country. This is the basic cause of all the other parallels.”

It is vital to recognize that all of these groups actively recruit people from the outside world, and that
most of these groups maintain a public image of benign activity and even eminent respectability (excepting some organized crime entities, and the most severe cults like the satanic organizations). I will refer here to the CIA more than to its many counterparts around the world (e.g. KGB, MOSSAD, MI6, SAVAK, etc.), to the Moon group (among several thousand active cults) and to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). “Therefore, on the first day of my term of office, my administration will immediately pursue the following six measures to clean up the corruption and special interest collusion in Washington, DC:
FIRST, propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress;
SECOND, a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health);
THIRD, a requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated;
FOURTH, a 5 year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service;
FIFTH, a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government;
SIXTH, a complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections.
On the same day, I will begin taking the following seven actions to protect American workers:
FIRST, I will announce my intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205
SECOND, I will announce our withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership
THIRD, I will direct my Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator
FOURTH, I will direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately
FIFTH, I will lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars’ worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.
SIXTH, lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward
SEVENTH, cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America’s water and environmental infrastructure
Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law:
FIRST, cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama
SECOND, begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States
THIRD, cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities
FOURTH, begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won’t take them back
FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.
Next, I will work with Congress to introduce the following broader legislative measures and fight for their passage within the first 100 days of my Administration:
1. Middle Class Tax Relief And Simplification Act. An economic plan designed to grow the economy 4% per year and create at least 25 million new jobs through massive tax reduction and simplification, in combination with trade reform, regulatory relief, and lifting the restrictions on American energy. The largest tax reductions are for the middle class. A middle-class family with 2 children will get a 35% tax cut. The current number of brackets will be reduced from 7 to 3, and tax forms will likewise be greatly simplified. The business rate will be lowered from 35 to 15 percent, and the trillions of dollars of American corporate money overseas can now be brought back at a 10 percent rate.
2. End The Offshoring Act Establishes tariffs to discourage companies from laying off their workers in order to relocate in other countries and ship their products back to the U.S. tax-free.
3. American Energy & Infrastructure Act. Leverages public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years. It is revenue neutral.
4. School Choice And Education Opportunity Act. Redirects education dollars to gives parents the right to send their kid to the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice. Ends common core, brings education supervision to local communities. It expands vocational and technical education, and make 2 and 4-year college more affordable.
5. Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act. Fully repeals Obamacare and replaces it with Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and lets states manage Medicaid funds. Reforms will also include cutting the red tape at the FDA: there are over 4,000 drugs awaiting approval, and we especially want to speed the approval of life-saving medications.
6. Affordable Childcare and Eldercare Act. Allows Americans to deduct childcare and elder care from their taxes, incentivizes employers to provide on-site childcare services, and creates tax-free Dependent Care Savings Accounts for both young and elderly dependents, with matching contributions for low-income families.
7. End Illegal Immigration Act Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a 2-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a 5-year mandatory minimum for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for overstaying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first.
8. Restoring Community Safety Act. Reduces surging crime, drugs and violence by creating a Task Force On Violent Crime and increasing funding for programs that train and assist local police; increases resources for federal law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors to dismantle criminal gangs and put violent offenders behind bars.
9. Restoring National Security Act. Rebuilds our military by eliminating the defense sequester and expanding military investment; provides Veterans with the ability to receive public VA treatment or attend the private doctor of their choice; protects our vital infrastructure from cyber-attack; establishes new screening procedures for immigration to ensure those who are admitted to our country support our people and our values
10. Clean up Corruption in Washington Act. Enacts new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.
On November 8th, Americans will be voting for this 100-day plan to restore prosperity to our economy, security to our communities, and honesty to our government.
This is my pledge to you.
And if we follow these steps, we will once more have a government of, by and for the people.”
