Sean Stone has grown up in the film-world, having acted since childhood in his father Oliver Stone’s films, including The Doors, JFK, Natural Born Killers, and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, before becoming a director in his own right with Greystone Park. The movie was based on Stone’s experiences of exploring haunted mental asylums.

This book contains physical evidence, not theories or speculation, but physical evidence 
that is overwhelming and conclusive as to what happened. But for the record, I do not believe that our government is responsible for executing the events of 9/11/01; nor do I believe that our government is not responsible for executing the events of 9/11/01.
This is not a case of belief. This is a crime that should be solved by a forensic study of the evidence. Before it can be determined who did it, it must first be determined what was done and how it was done.
The order of crime solving is to determine
1) WHAT happened, then
2) HOW it happened (e.g., what weapon), then
3) WHO did it. And only then can we address
4) WHY they did it (i.e. motive).
Let us remember what is required to (legally) convict someone of a crime. You cannot convict someone of a crime based on belief. You cannot convict someone of a crime if you don’t even know what crime to charge them with. If you accuse someone of murder using a gun, you’d better be sure the body has a bullet hole in it. And yet before noon on 9/11/01, we were told who did it, how they did it, and why they did it (they hate us for our freedoms); before any investigation had been conducted to determine what had even been done.
Many people have speculated as to who committed the crimes of 9/11 and/or how they did so. But without addressing what happened, speculation of this kind is nothing more than conspiracy theory, a phrase that also describes the 19 bad guys with box cutters story we were given before noon on 9/11/01.
My own research is not speculation. It is a forensics investigation of what happened to the WTC complex on 9/11/01. I don’t address who did it, nor am I concerned with that question right now. Before issues of that kind can be addressed, we must first determine what happened.
By definition, research that is purely empirical cannot be about and has nothing to do with conspiracy theory of any kind. The fact that others (in the mainstream media, the alternative media, and the so-called 9/11 truth movement) promote various theories about 9/11 is irrelevant to my research. On the other hand, to determine what happened, we must address all of the available evidence.
Anyone declaring who did what or how they did it before they have determined what was done is merely promoting either speculation or propaganda. The popular chant, “9/11 was an inside job,” is, scientifically speaking, no different from the chant that “19 bad guys with box cutters did it.” Neither one is the result of a scientific investigation supported by evidence that would be admissible in court. Neither identifies what crime was committed or how it was committed.
What is presented in this book is not a theory and it is not speculation. It is evidence. It is the body of empirical evidence that must be explained in order to determine what happened.

Protested publicly in Hanoi in early June 1995 when Vietnamese authorities barred him from inspecting several prisons where large numbers of American POWs had reportedly been held long after Operation Homecoming. Vietnamese officials responded by declaring Hendon persona non grata and ordering him deported.
From September 1981, when he first traveled to Laos, until June 1995, when he was deported from Vietnam, Hendon traveled to South and Southeast Asia and other locations in the Far East some 33 times in an effort to help determine the fate of the approximately 2,500 Americans who remained unaccounted for at war’s end. He is considered one of the free world’s foremost authorities on the postwar Vietnamese and Lao prison systems and the postwar intelligence telling of American servicemen detained in those prisons. He has appeared on CBS’s 60 Minutes, ABC’s 20/20, Dateline NBC, ABC’s Good Morning America, the NBC Today Show, Saturday Today, CNN’s Larry King Live and on a number of network news and talk shows.
Hendon and co-author Elizabeth Stewart, whose father is Missing in Action in North Vietnam, began writing a history of the POW issue, An Enormous Crime, soon after Hendon’s forced return from Vietnam in June 1995. The book is based on now-declassified postwar intelligence and now-declassified official U.S. records chronicling how seven presidential administrations; a House investigatory committee (in 1975-76); a presidential investigatory commission (in 1977) and a Senate investigatory committee (in 1991-93) dealt with what President Ronald Reagan so correctly called this “sorest wound” of the Vietnam War. “We are drifting to the future, not moving purposefully,” Peikoff warns. “But we are drifting as Germany moved, in the same direction, for the same kind of reason.”
Some of the “ominous parallels” between pre-Hitler Germany and the United States that Peikoff identifies are:
- Liberals who demand public control over the use and disposal of private property — social security, more taxes, more government control over the energy industry, medicine, broadcasting, etc.
- Conservatives who demand government control over our intellectual and moral life — prayer in the schools, literary censorship, government intervention in the teaching of biology, the anti-abortion movement, etc.
- Political parties devoid of principles or direction and moved at random by pressure groups, each demanding still more controls.
- A “progressive,” anti-intellectual educational system that, from kindergarten to graduate school, creates students who can’t read or write — students brainwashed into the feeling that their minds are helpless and they must adapt to “society,” that there is no absolute truth and that morality is whatever society says it is.
- A student radical movement (from the 1960’s through the violent anti-nukers and ecology fanatics of today) who are, Peikoff maintains, the “pre-Hitler youth movement resurrected.” The radicals are nature worshippers who attack the middle class, science, technology, and business.
- The rise of defiant old-world racial hatreds disguised as “ethnic-identity” movements and “affirmative action.”
- A pervasive atmosphere of decadence, moral bankruptcy, and nihilist art accompanied by the rise of escapist mystic cults of every kind — astrology, “alternative medicine,” Orientalists, extrasensory perception, etc.
In an introduction to Peikoff’s book, Ayn Rand describes The Ominous Parallels as, “the first book by an Objectivist philosopher other than myself” and goes on to say that, “If you do not wish to be a victim of today’s philosophical bankruptcy, I recommend The Ominous Parallels as protection and ammunition. It will protect you from supporting, unwittingly, the ideas that are destroying you and the world.”
In brilliantly reasoned prose, Peikoff argues that the deepest roots of German Nazism lie not in existential crises, but in ideas — not in Germany’s military defeat in World War I or the economic disasters of the Weimar Republic that followed, but in the philosophy that dominated pre-Nazi Germany. Although it was mediated by crises, Peikoff demonstrates that German Nazism was the inevitable climax of a centuries-long philosophic development, preaching three fundamental ideas: the worship of unreason, the demand for self-sacrifice and the elevation of society or the state above the individual.
“These ideas,” Peikoff says, “are the essence of Nazism and they are exactly what our leading universities are now spreading throughout this country. This is the basic cause of all the other parallels.”

Allied to it is a conspiratorial and Manichean view of history as a battle between the good and evil camps, between the pure and the corrupt, in which one’s own community or nation has been the victim. In this Darwinian narrative, the chosen people have been weakened by political parties, social classes, inassimilable minorities, spoiled rentiers, and rationalist thinkers who lack the necessary sense of community. These “mobilizing passions,” mostly taken for granted and not always overtly argued as intellectual propositions, form the emotional lava that set fascism’s foundations

They would have to be as familiar and reassuring to loyal Americans as the language and symbols of the original fascisms were familiar and reassuring to many Italians and Germans, as Orwell suggested. Hitler and Mussolini, after all, had not tried to seem exotic to their fellow citizens. No swastikas in an American fascism, but Stars and Stripes (or Stars and Bars) and Christian crosses. No fascist salute, but mass recitations of the pledge of allegiance. These symbols contain no whiff of fascism in themselves, of course, but an American fascism would transform them into obligatory litmus tests for detecting the internal enemy.

As Matthew Vadum persuasively documents in Team Jihad: How Sharia-Supremacists Collaborate with Leftists to Destroy the United States, the jihadists’ success in this regard is not entirely attributable to the seductiveness of their information and influence operations. They owe much to the decades-long march of cultural Marxism through the key pillars of American society: academia, faith communities, government (especially national security), law enforcement, and media. After all, it was communist, leftist, and progressive operatives who successfully promoted the notion that the Judeo-Christian principles laid down by the Founding Fathers were, at best, outmoded and, at worst, a force for ill in the world. In this shared antipathy to the traditional religious values that inspired and nurtured Western civilization, Islam and the left found grounds to make common cause: They could set aside their own divergent ideologies and desired end states for the time being and join forces to bring down America. The emergence of the contemporary Red-Green axis coincided with – and contributed to – the undoing of a counterintelligence mindset in official U.S. circles. Effectively neutralized was any appreciation of the threat posed by influence operations and, in particular, their perpetrators inside the United States. These dynamics contributed greatly to the collapse of our Intelligence Community’s ability to protect against hostile propaganda, whether of the communist or taqiyya varieties, and subversive infiltration by their practitioners. That vulnerability was made all the more ominous by the ties between Western leftists and jihadists who were recruited, trained and, in some cases at least, managed by the Soviet Union and its feared security service, the KGB. Over the years, we have learned much about such operations from declassified information like the Mitrokhin Archive and the Venona Papers. Defectors like Ion Pacepa from Romania’s secret police and brilliant researchers like Diana West in American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on our Nation’s Character have illuminated how communist agents stoked the flames of Islamic terrorism and infiltrated deeply inside the ranks of the U.S. government.

While preparing his Senior Thesis in American History at Princeton University, Sean Stone came across the name of William Yandell Elliott, Professor Emeritus of history and government at Harvard through the first half of the 20th century. Stone found that Elliott had created a virtual “kindergarten” of Anglo-American imperialists among his students, who included Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Samuel P. Huntington, and McGeorge Bundy. Upon further investigation, Stone came to understand Elliott’s own integral role, as an advisor to six presidents, in connecting the modern national-security establishment with the British Round Table Movement’s design to re-incorporate America into the British “Empire.” Whether that goal has been achieved will be left to the reader to decide. But through this sweeping overview of world affairs, it cannot be denied that W.Y. Elliott’s life and intellectual history demonstrate the strong interlocking relationship between academia, government, big business and … our future.
Sean Stone has grown up in the film-world, having acted since childhood in his father Oliver Stone’s films, including The Doors, JFK, Natural Born Killers, and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, before becoming a director in his own right with Greystone Park.
